Michele Moran - The Heretic Queen

In some way this novel is a continuation of Ms. Moran's novel "Nefertiti", however plot inconsistencies make it an unlikely sequel candidate. It is clear that this is meant to me an independent novel. The main character is Queen Nefertiti's niece Nefertari. She is the daughter of Muntnodjemet and Horemhab. By this time her aunt and uncle are labeled as heretics and the royal court does not want to have anything to do with anything or anyone who is linked to them. Nefertari has to overcome incredible odds to win her place in the royal court. After choosing to become a priestess, she goes through a rigorous training a transformation from an ugly duckling to a beautiful swan. She becomes the wife to the crown prince, however the story does not end here. Her place in court is established, but she has some really powerful adversaries to get there.
